Lynnhaven Boatramp

Liberty Engineering, P.C. designed this four lane boat ramp as a consultant to the project’s prime design professional. Our work included design of the boat ramp, side cutoff walls, courtesy piers, wood decks and other structural site work features. Use of precast concrete slabs and sheet piling allowed construction without a cofferdam. The project included a large parking lot for boat trailers, accessible ramp to adjacent beach, a toilet, shower and office facility. Project was completed on time and budget. Liberty Engineering’s work was not the subject of construction change orders or significant requests for information during construction. Liberty Engineering provided a timely turnaround for all design work, shop drawing review and contractor requests for information. We provided full time inspection of pile driving during test pile installation. Cost of construction for Liberty Engineering’s areas of responsibility was approximately $650,000, about one fourth of the total project cost. Construction was substantially complete December 2001.
